August News and Prayers

August News and Prayers

My greetings from Kinshasa, capital city of Democratic Republic of Congo, It has being a good experience to be back in Kinshasa, the city where I was born and my parents are resting.  Sometimes, I have difficult to adapt to the way to conduct business.  Pray for me for patience, wisdom, adaptation and humility

I have mission to lead different programs of ACSI in D R Congo and Central African Region.  The Protestant schools are more than 18 500 schools and they are more than 250 000 school administrators and teachers.  One of my roles is to lead the holistic trainings that will help them to understand the role of Christian schools in the society and to be transformed educators who will impact students’ life and worldview.  In Kinshasa, I have more than 600 schools to work with and I need to recruit 40 church leaders and educators who will be trained as trainer of trainers.  Please pray for me to select the right people for this task and to establish correct structure for the organization in D R Congo and Central Africa.

Pray for me, every day I am thinking how I could develop holistic programs to help young Africans understand their role in their communities where they live, and prepare them to be transformed leaders who will transform their nation.  ACSI received mandate from the Church of Christ in Congo to help teachers to become efficient as Christian teachers and school administrators, and also to retrain most of the teachers.

I have to develop and establish network with different organizations that are working in D R Congo and Central Africa Region for teachers training, children education and advocate for children right.  Pray for us to have adequate office to host different meetings that I am projecting with them.  The Lord gives us favor among all of these organizations and of ministers of education in D R Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Gabon, Central Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, and Cameroun. I need wisdom to maintain these relations fruitful for the well being of the organization and Church of Christ in Congo.

Last month, soon I got into Kinshasa I had to preach at Evangelism campaign, pastors conference, participated in leadership conferences led by different Christian organizations.  Pray for me to have more energy to continue serving our Lord Jesus

Since last month, I have been working to open the office, which I am still waiting to answer from the church leader in Kinshasa.  Please pray for us to find a local where I can work.

It is difficult to circulate in Kinshasa without vehicle, but I have been riding public transportation and taxi that it is new experience and I believe the Lord allows it for particular reason, but I know it is for my good.  Pray for us to get vehicle and accommodation (housing) because most of the houses are very expensive keep me in prayer...

It is my first time that I missed to take my children to school or missing the first day of going back to school.  Please pray for my wife who is taking care of all business and watching over all family when she has to go to work, and pray for us to be together again very soon

September News

September News

during the month of September 2013 the Lord bless us and we opened the office at Eglise du Christ au Congo headquarter.  Normally, anyone can join us at 74 Avenue de la Justice suite 104-105, Commune of Gombe.

We received our assistant Director for Africa, our beloved brother Gavin with whom we had chance to evaluate the work and plan for the future.  We visited the Human People to People (HPP) teachers' training site in Mbakana that it was good experience and appreciate the work HPP.  Together, we evaluated the different outcomes and discuss the efficiency of our ministry in Congo.

We met with other potential partners for different provinces of D R Congo and discussed how should we work together in near future.  All these meetings gave us senses that ACSI in D R Congo will work differently compare to other countries where ACSI is established and worked for many years...

September it was wonderful month

I am Back Home and Ready to Go Again

Thank God who protects me during my stay in Africa

I made it safe last night at home after travelling for 26 hours from Africa to USA, and I was welcomed by my daughter, my son Elisha and my wonderful wife whom I missed so much for the last three months, by seeing them I understood that nothing could be comparing to family.  I am relaxing at home before I can get back to my routine life in USA.

I am here for two months to be with my family and to conduct fundraising effort for the work in Kinshasa, D R Congo and Central Africa Region.  I will join next month by my regional Director for Africa, Dr. Samson Makhado, a wonderful man of God who inspires and mobilizes workers for the work of God in Africa, specially in education field, his assistant Director Gavin, Mr. Mike Epps, the Vice President of ACSI Global, and Mrs. Jan Stump Director of Education Foundation. We are planning an information and fundraising dinner on November 14, 2013.  Please join us and call 616 589 5435 for more information.

We have 6 Millions students to equip and provide a good education system in God's worldview and Christian environment, and we have 250 000 school administrators and teachers to re-train and get to certification and accreditation process in 18 549 schools in Congo without adding in Gabon, Republic of Congo, Republic of Chad, Centrafrica Republic, Equator Guinea and Republic of Cameroon, which we (ACSI and ECC/ School Coordination) are planning to establish in the country for the next five years.

Therefore we are planning to create a system to re-train all educators in Central Africa Region.  we are working to start Protestant Academy of Modern Pedagogy that it will become school of education (graduate school or Master level), establish an accreditation process, develop a strategic plan to cover all country in lapse of time, and to empower the authorities and existing system to become transforming structure that it is leading the change needed in education field.

To succeed in this effort, we need all to participate by praying that the Lord our God to send workers (mostly we need teachers who will be monitoring others, and we  need Christian teachers and instructors.), we need funds because we will move in the country and invite professors around the world to join us in Congo to equip Christian teachers who are preparing
